It’s been a month since we participated in the Bangladesh Denim Expo, and only now, after two weeks in Brazil holding meetings and presenting Syncteks, we´re able to integrate the experience and reflect on our time spent in Bangladesh.
Just to give a little background, Bangladesh Denim Expo is one of the most important business fairs in the world in the textile sector, and this year we had the opportunity to be present there, as an exhibitor.
Therefore, this reflection focuses on the value that we’re able to get from this fair and the presence in the country, from the opportunity to obtain feedback on our software from some of the biggest industry’s players in the world, to the perception of the directions of the textile market. We get into more detail below:
The opportunity to be with the biggest players in the industry
The networking opportunities at these fairs are fantastic”. This means that people from all over the world, who work in the textile sector, are gathered in one place, and conversations about topics, usually very specific and complex, flow normally.
We are talking about large companies in the textile sector, with which we have established several contacts, in a region where there is great technological openness and the need for solutions that can make companies (even!) more effective on a global scale.

The opportunity to showcase an innovative product and validate its acceptance
When we launch a product, even with all the feasibility studies carried out and market experience we have, we can only see its true validation when it reaches the market. This becomes even more relevant considering that we are talking about a traditional sector, where many entrepreneurs, more than concepts and ideas, want to see the product “working”.
It was an excellent opportunity, on the one hand, to present Syncteks – Software for Laundries and Dyeing companies, which we have been developing, and on the other, to understand opportunities that exist to offer an even better service to customers.
The acceptance of the product and the interest aroused in it were above expectations, surpassing the high expectations we already had, which is an excellent sign.
We had, for example, the opportunity to speak to companies like the Pretty Group, which is one of the most important names when it comes to large-scale production for high-quality international brands, with which we had a brief but quite productive talk, in relation to the needs of the dyeing market.
Soorty, a leader in denim production on a global scale, was another of the companies with whom we shared ideas and obtained important feedback.
The know-how passed on in presentations inside the fair
Although we did not attend all the presentations, as we would have liked, we saw enormous value in the ones we had the opportunity to see. The value created, in terms of analysis, particularly with regard to the way in which the textile market has been growing, market trends and possibilities for collaboration between different players and industries, was something that we found to be of great importance and that gave us some insights into the approach we intend to take to the market.
The importance of companies in the region as textile production players on a global scale
Bangladesh has been an important player in textiles for many years, as have other countries in the same region. However, companies are growing, offering increasingly more quality, technology and assuming themselves not only as large scale producers, but also in quality at different levels.
The adoption of technology has also become a differentiating factor for these companies, assuming an increasingly important role in production for the global market. This was evidenced by the presence at the fair of representatives from major clothing brands, showing the growing importance of these producers in a market (fashion) with a forecast of increasing demand in the coming years, on a global level.
The Beximco Factory Visit
Business trips are important to hold meetings, inside of Denim expo and outside of it. In our trip to Bangladesh we also had the very important opportunity to exchange ideas with Beximco, which is a conglomerate of companies, and visit their factory. This holding, which operates in different fields, has several projects in the textile sector, with Yellow, a reference in Bangladesh that has been gaining attention internationally, as it best-known brand.

The takeaway
It’s important to salute and thank the organization of the Bangladesh Denim Expo, which created the conditions to host such an event, that allows to build a bridge between local companies and the rest of the world, for creation of value through the exchange of ideas and fomenting business opportunities.
Thank you to everyone who participated and interacted with us at this fair. It was a pleasure.
We would also give a special thanks to Beximco, for receiving us so well in their factory.
We wish everyone much success in business and see you in the coming year.
